SUMMARY:Evening Bat Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join us on one of our bat walks at dusk by the river in Heaton Mersey using monitors to hear and see the bats out hunting for insects! Book your place on our Eventbrite page. \nThese evening bat walls will give you the chance to hear and observe the bats using our special bat monitoring equipment. The insects will be out and the bats will be hunting! \nThe events will last just over an hour\, and will take you from a meeting place in Heaton Mersey down to the river. Please wear appropriate shoes for uneven terrain. \nThe walks are led by volunteers from Sustainable Living in the Heatons. We ask for a voluntary donation of £6 for adults over 18\, payable in cash on the night. Please book a place for all adults and children attending. \nOur bat walks are always popular and oversubscribed. If you or your party need to cancel your booking\, please do so as soon as possible via Eventbrite. If you are unable to cancel it through Eventbrite please contact info@slheatons.org. If the event is fully booked please contact info@slheatons.org to go on the waiting list. \nHaving booked for the bat walk\, you will receive more detailed information and meeting details by email a few days before the event. The entrance is at the back of the centre\, where you should ring the bell for the conference room. Hot drinks will be provided for everyone. It is a large well-ventilated room. \nWe are grateful to Stockport Signpost for Carers in allowing us the use of The Heatons Centre at a generous fee. Signpost for Carers (registered charity no: 1085727) owns and manages the use of the Heatons Centre. Surplus income generated from the use of this community space is used to support the wellbeing of those caring for friends and relatives across Stockport. \nEveryone is welcome to our meeting. Stopping off at the gorgeous Station South for drinks and cake. \nGet ready to pedal your way to a day of fun\, fitness\, and family bonding! We invite you and your loved ones to join us on a Family-Friendly Bike Ride to Station South Levensulme via the picturesque Fallowfield Loopline and if weather allows stopping off to see the Secret Lake and Levenshulme Waterfall. \nThis event is designed for families\, so bring the whole crew from littlest backseat riders to great grandparents. Oh and if you are doing the Manchester Marathon on 14th April\, this is a perfect ride to keep your legs moving 😊 \nThe Route: is perfect for riders of all skill levels\, and is mostly on quiet cycle paths. \nThe Views: we will be experiencing the green beauty of Nelstrop Lane and onto the Fallowfield Loopline loop line. After coffee and a cake at Station South we will continue west along the Floop turning off to enjoy Cringle Park on our way home.
