We invite you and your loved ones to join us on a Family-Friendly Bike Ride to Station South Levensulme via the picturesque Fallowfield Loopline and if weather allows stopping off to see the Secret Lake and Levenshulme Waterfall. \nThis event is designed for families\, so bring the whole crew from littlest backseat riders to great grandparents. Oh and if you are doing the Manchester Marathon on 14th April\, this is a perfect ride to keep your legs moving 😊 \nThe Route: is perfect for riders of all skill levels\, and is mostly on quiet cycle paths. \nThe Views: we will be experiencing the green beauty of Nelstrop Lane and onto the Fallowfield Loopline loop line. The entrance is at the back of the centre\, where you should ring the bell for the conference room. Hot drinks will be provided for everyone. It is a large well-ventilated room. \nWe are grateful to Stockport Signpost for Carers in allowing us the use of The Heatons Centre at a generous fee. Signpost for Carers (registered charity no: 1085727) owns and manages the use of the Heatons Centre. Surplus income generated from the use of this community space is used to support the wellbeing of those caring for friends and relatives across Stockport. \nEveryone is welcome to our meeting. DESCRIPTION:This month we are taking our monthly meeting outside for a summer social! \nWe are meeting on Wednesday 9th August at 6.30 onwards at Marbury Road Edible Garden in Heaton Chapel. It will be an informal social event\, a chance to catch up but also a great chance to check out this newly developed area and to hear about all great work being done by the community group there. Kell spoke about it at a recent monthly SLH meeting and also at our the last Low carbon Heatons event. \nBring drinks\, snacks or food to share. \nThe nearest postcode is SK4 5NH. The site is just off Marbury Road on Nelstrop Road North\, the walking and cycling path to the Fallowfield Loop.  It’s on the right\, just after the last house\, opposite what was Shore Folds Urban Farm\, now a construction site. Go through the gate into the field. \nThere’s an events shelter and a log seating circle but you might like to bring your own chair.   Sensible footwear is advised although there are laid paths. The composting toilet will be available too. Some things will be available to buy by card or cash: jams\, syrups\, honey\, dried teas and fresh produce. \nIf the weather is poor we will go to the George and Dragon Pub in Heaton Chapel. \nIf you need more details send an email to info@slheatons.org or on the day phone 07854 898 418.
