By Kell Degnen from Marbury Road Edible Garden
The volunteers at Marbury Road Edible Garden are celebrating a successful end to the 2023 growing season after receiving a prestigious award for our work in growing food together. The Royal Horticultural Society and BBC One Show have recognised our group’s commitment to fostering a sense of community and sustainability through our shared passion for gardening.
The upcoming winter months will bring a temporary halt to our regular meetings because we have been unable to secure funding for an indoor space but we hope to make progress on this in the coming year. We also have big plans to incorporate more innovative growing technologies into the garden, which will enhance our capabilities and enable us to create an even more sustainable and efficient gardening space. Visit our JustGiving page if you would like to support our work.
We encourage all local residents and gardening enthusiasts to join us and be a part of this inspiring initiative. Whether you have green thumbs or are simply eager to learn, the group welcomes everyone with open arms. We meet every Wednesday between 10 and 12 to nurture plants, share gardening knowledge, and enjoy the rewards of our collective efforts.
